Futebol Clube do Porto, founded in 1893, is the most important sports institution in Porto and in the North of Portugal; it's the banner that takes the name of our city to the four corners of the World. At this moment, it is also the most important sports institution in the whole country and it's also among the most prestigious clubs in Europe and in the World.

Its history has many moments of glory and a few inglorious moments, many highs and a few lows, many victories and a few defeats; it is writen in a golden book with a lot of sweat and a lot of tears, of joy and of sadness. That history and all the stories within it were and still are written by men and women who put on the team's shirt - on the field of play, on the bench, in the dressing room or in the office - and dedicate themselves to it, some for their entire life. But not only these people are responsible for what FC Porto is today; that is also due to men and women who, generation after generation, put on the team's shirt... on the stands.

For 113 years (on September 28th 2007 the club will celebrate its 114th birthday) there were many anonymous people who helped to build the steps of success that FC Porto has been climbing. At this moment we are probably more than ever, because the last twenty years were the club's most successful times and the number of supporters kept growing. We are happy about that, but we must admire those who were with the club through the hard times, when, according to our grandparents, "when Porto passed the Arrábida bridge the match was already lost"... Those people were probably the happiest ones in magic moments such as those beautiful nights in Vienna, Seville or Gelsenkirchen or the Penta - and they deserve it.

We are hundreds of thousands and we keep on growing. We keep the club's flame always alive, the very same club that António Nicolau de Almeida founded 111 years ago and José Monteiro da Costa brought back to life 13 years later. A club that doesn't sell itself and doesn't give up, a club that is still a small club, but not in the pejorative sense with which others (worthlessly) try to insult us; it is still a small club because it is always close to those who build it day after day, because it refuses to live "up" to the pseudo-values of the modern institutions in which the coldest investor means more than the most passionate supporter. In these things, yes, this great Nacional, European and World club is still a small club. And it's proud of it.

This page is dedicated to that bastion of Porto called Futebol Clube do Porto. We salute all the players, managers, directors and all those who serve or have served the club, but this time those who always pay tribute will be the ones to receive it: the immense and almost always anonymous Futebol Clube do Porto crowd - the Portistas.

I hope you like my site and I hope it helps you find out more about this great club and the family of people who untiringly supports it.
